Some Expert Advice - Broke Tensioner Adjuster Control

So have to put the belt back on for 2006 EX Honda Civic after some maintenance and belt change.

Unfortunately, broke the portion highlighted in the picture, doubt it will hold with JBweld or crazy glue, so how can I adjust the tension to put the belt back on?

Can you pry up on the tensioner pulley itself or get a wrench in the pulley nut to get your movement needed? If not then you are probably just going to have to replace it.
 
Thank you, can I do a work around to put the belt back on and at least drive the car for time being?
Doubt it - those tensioners can be very difficult to compress. Next time, move the nut “straight” and it is less likely to snap off.

Sorry, but can you please explain a bit on the "straight" part so that mistake doesn't happen again. Tx
