i can run a large bundle of 10ft 2x4s inside the Sienna with the hatch closed. I can only fit 8ft diagonally inside the bed of the truck. Van has 1642lb payload, truck has 1805lbs.

I used to stack lumber onto the dash and have it pass into the trunk. At least one of those cars I wasn't worried about airbags. Rolling down a window and having it stick out, sitting on the mirror, eh... not admitting to that.

I can fit a full sized water heater (fully boxed) in my Scion tC.

Also had it filled with bags of gravel almost up the the ceiling with the seats down and a few in the passenger footwell. Probably close to to 1000lbs, suspension sagging but not on bumps stops. It did bottom out a few times but I drove it slowly early in the AM when there was less traffic.

Still on the original suspension, almost 20 years old now.

Just brought home a loveseat in the back of my Hyundai Accent. I measured the opening and it fit but stuck out a foot or so. Jammed in pretty tight.

Here is when I brough home some 20 ft stuff. Not easy diving in the interstate construction zones....
