I started an ARX cleaning today. First time for this 1993 Mercury Villager minivan, 148000 miles. But listen to this sob story.

I had the Fram quick oil change unit on, can't remember the name. I couldn't find the part that srews into it to make the oil drain. So I took off the part that screws into the oil pan. I measured the ARX and poured it in. The next thing I hear is the ARX pouring right out into the drain pain!!! ARRRGGGHH!! Forgot to put the plug in. So, I let it drain out and figure 'oh well, I'll just open the other bottle (used 8 of the 12 ozs). So I put the part that screws into the oil pan back in; didn't feel right. Like it was put in wrong. Oh well, back it out and try again. Tighten. That is over tighten and break stupid thing in oil pan hole. Double ARRRGGGHH!!! So then I had to go to the store, buy a new drain plug; buy easy outs to get the broke piece out. Thank God, it came out easily. If a meteor fell on my head after that I wouldn't have been surprised!

If the rock from outter space had smote thee it would be termed a meteorite.

This useless worthless bit of scientific babbling has been brought to thee by the letter 6 and the number G.

Otherwise, you're pretty happy with the Fram SureDrain? This is exactly the kind of bad automotive karma I feared would smite me should I seek convenience from the brass valve. Your lesson will stay with me always, BigDen!

I think if you want a drain valve the Fumoto might be better because you don't need two pieces. Of course the piece I need I would loose! For now I'm sticking with a regular drain plug!
