Can someone suggest some small engine repair forums that have lots of posts?

I have found a few, but they are all very small.

Thanks

LawnSite.com is pretty good......Mechanic and Repair section.

Arboristsite.com has a good chainsaw forum but it is not moderated well and discussions get out of hand....Stihl vs. Husky lunatics.

Both of these forums cater to professionals and a number of it's members are professional small engine technicians.

Actually, I have 'em both covered, I own Stihls and Huskies. Don't tell anyone, but the Husky 365 may be THE best all-around saw ever made.

Don't suggest other forums, you might get banned from here!

i have a 365 and its a GREAT SAW!

Blah, Blah, Blah......Husky this, Husky that. We all know Stihl rules.

For Pete's sake, they were owned by a vacuum cleaner company for a few years.

Advertising whores Paul Harvey and Martha Stewart hawk them:

You can count on great service from Home Depot and Lowes that sell them.

What more can you say?

All kidding aside, I use and like both brands. They each have a few models that excel.

As I get older, a lighter saw meets my fancy more. These days, my most frequent go to saw is the 10 lb. Stihl MS 260 Pro. At 14,000 rpms and 50 something cc's, it's a screamer and workhorse.

Now....back to that Marth Stewart blog site......grrrrrrrr

http://www.smokstak.org

This is for old small engines. I'd go here for anything pre '65. These guys can answer questions with extreme detail about everything all the way back to steam engines. Interesting site, especially worth looking at some of their large hit-and-miss restorations. Very nice guys, too.

Santa brought me a Stihl 290 farmboss. Don't tell me the Husky is better, I will not be able to sleep at night. I am already lying awake at night trying to decide what brand and ratio to run in it.

Not "better", I just prefer the Husky's. Kinda' like a brunette/blonde thing!!

My Stihls have cut tons of logs, and they work great. No problems there, there's just something about the Husky's.

Run the Stihl pre-measured stuff at their recommended ratio (still 50:1, right) and it'll be happy. I've used that, pre-measured Husky, and Poulan synthetic, with no issues, other than the Poulan stuff may smoke a trifle less.
