I did my first oil change on the F250 the other day. What a mess, even though I was prepared for the volume of oil I still spilled a bunch on th edarn driveway. Anyway I think I slightly over filled the engine with oil. The level is just above the hash markes on the dipstick. Is this that big of a deal?

No, I overfill all my cars by 1/3-1/2 quart. That way I don't have to worry about my daughters checking the oil. Which they most likely won't.

Yesterday at the Vatozone, I witnessed a dude pour an entire 5-liter jug of oil into his circa-2000-model Town Car.

Now, even if the engine was 4 quarts low (doubtful), he just overfilled it by 2 quarts.

I warned him about it, and he said he would deal with it later, as he was already late getting back to work from his lunchbreak.

My Dad used to do stuff like this all the time - he would always say, "It'll burn it off."

BTW - no worries on your little tiny bit of overfill. My Dad would be proud of you
