1/2” galvanized or black pipe, 36”/48” or even longer
(2) 1/2” floor flanges
3/4” - 1/2” - 3/4” Tee
5” or 6” of galvanized or black pipe piece

The one floor flange mounts to the wall and the pipe screws into it. The other floor flange mounts the 3/4” tee. The goal of the tee is to be larger and let the pipe go through it when unscrewing it and allowing the pipe to rest on it.

Worked great for holding spools of hose. Could use for wire or anything. Can even make it longer and add another.

Neat. While not hose or wire back in the day I bought a wheeled looking contraption to spool my kite string on. Apparently it's for really long fishing lines to let it dry out. Will any of the hardware or auto parts stores give the plastic spools away, or do they get refilled?

Usually I’ll buy 25ft or 50ft of gates barricade or ACDelco (gates) hose and they’ll come on the plastic spool from Amazon. Going forward when I order another I won’t throw away a spool until I make sure its replacement comes on one.

redhat: That's a "Hose spool axle", patented by my great-grandfather in 1896.
