Signatures limited to one time/thread

We have limited signatures to display one time per thread. We like your signatures, but reading them one time/thread is probably enough.

But how is everyone going to remember what cars we all have now!? I’m jk… this makes sense and most larger forums I’m on have this configuration.

That’s how I setup Outlook at work - even keep my signature info sideways to ‘control the scroll’

Any option of a "click here" for signature thing?

I like the less space and clutter but search back more challenging.

Yes. If you want to see someone's signature, then look in their profile for their latest posts.

Some people here will have totally different vehicle fleet by then.

Signatures like posts are dynamically generated every time you view them. You'll always get their latest signature.

Thanks !! I might turn signatures back on now. My complaint about them was how long some people have made theirs. Character limit next ?

If anyone knows or remembers the site DSLReports, that forum software was home-made and the site owner/developer had a cool feature for signatures. If your post wasn't longer than your signature, it didn't display.

Yes, everything you see displayed is dynamically generated. If signatures are always shown in every post, that's a query and html generated for every post everyone displays all the time.

Text is highly compressible. The alternative is, using you as an example, the forum database would have 1900 "copies" of your signature. The way it's done, there's (1) copy that gets inserted on-the-fly.

Just turn your phone sideways and like magic...sigs appear...it's
