I don't know about Mercedes, but Honda is adamant that the FF should be left in for the full interval. Hondas FF is loaded with moly.

Why would it matter? If it wasn't the FF and you just had high numbers from normal wear would it being any different?

Point being if it is not broke don't attempt to fix it, you'll just end up breaking it for good.

Hi Steve i have not seen you on to much... I was thinking of you in may we had a guy with a Hyundai come in here for an engine rebuild and it had 323,000 miles on it the guy wanted to keep the car because he said it never let him down.. The car still ran but it leaked oil and smoked a little...I bet that motor would have gone another 40,000 miles..

I think the engine with the most miles on them that we have rebuilt was the fords 4.6 in the vans for a courier service one of them had 398,000 miles another had close to that both still ran but smoked and was running real bad

haha.. Decision made... will change the oil to GC and OEM filter!

i know GM puts some kind of break in additive for new car so i would leave it in for 6,ooo km at least
