Hello !
Do any of you have opinon about the Quality of
Shell Helix Ultra 0w40/(5w 40) against Mobil 1 0w40 ?

/
Best Regards

We might if we could get Shell Helix Ultra over here. We do know the Mobil 1 0W-40 is a very good product and many use it over here.

I'd say it's a worldwide product in the same way football is a worldwide game: common everywhere but in the US, where for whatever reason it's unpopular and called something else.

I'm pretty sure it (or something like it) is what is in the Quaker State synthetic bottles.

they call football soccer in US and the game that is not even played with feet is called football

Sure it is. You run with your feet, the punter kicks with his foot, the field goal kicker kicks with his foot, and the fans stomp their feet.

I guess they could have named it 100-yard ball or goal post ball.

You hang around here long enough Boxster, you will find that topics drift all over the place. I've seen threads started about one brand of oil and before it's over we have discussed five or six different brands, what the best tire is, what kind of wax do you use, etc.

I know, it drive me crazy to.

Ok Johnny, thanks i dont mind discussions about different things
it could get interesting :)

I recently bought a nice car and the factory fill is
Mobil 1 0w 40 and i am sure that is a very good oil,but for some
reason these things about oils has come to my interest..and
i want what is best...but that is of course hard to say because
every body has different opinions but i assume that shell / mobil cant afford i the long run to sell inferior products..

/ Best Regards

You can get the Shell Helix 5w40 here but you have to buy it from a distributor by the case. My neighbor had a Maseratti that speced it. I believe it was about $76/case of 12 qts.

Fear not, the Mobil 1 0W-40 is an outstanding oil. What kind of car did you buy that came factory filled with the Mobil product?

Hello again,
I bought a Porsche Boxster S
I am not trying to out engineer the porsche tech´s
but there seem to be some complaints about Mobil 1 on the
car forums,Why i dont know ??

/ Regards

Most of the complaints about Mobil 1 have to do with their 5w30 oils by folks that wish they were oil engineers. We have a member on here named Doug Hillary and I hope he sees this thread. He lives in Australia but has worked all over Europe and was heavily involved with both Porsche and Mobil in the past. He has a wealth of knowledge on both.

Ok,thanks !

But what was "wrong" with the 5w30 Mobil oils in peoples opinon ?

I read a lot of "UOA:s" here and they are interesting
but there has to be major differnces in engine counstructions
and materials in regards to the Oil lab results instead of inferior oils ?

/ Regards
