Despite the statement on Shamwow's commercials that the product isn't available in stores, I've seen this product at Target, the same package of 4 large and 4 small towels, the same price of $20.

Has anybody used this? Does it really soak up moisture like that ("You followin' me, Camera Guy?"), and most iportant, is it safe to use on your precious paint?

You might as well add in the slap chop while you're at it.

I'm sure it's a great shami. I have the "super shami". Remember that one from the infomercials?

It works pretty good for drying vehicles and does hold a ton of water, but I doubt it would suck up a large spill from carpet without any pressure...

Is it soft enough for drying a car? I mean something with a pristine finish?

Thanks,
Frank D

I won't use it simply because of that annoying guy on TV, with his little headset. I'd use it if it were given to me as a gift, I suppose. I'm sure somebody will chime in that has used it.

Maybe someone will post a video of themselves using a Shamwow, whilst wearing a Snuggie, drying their car that they just used Simoniz Fix-it on to fix a big scratch. The video would end with something on said car being fixed with Mighty Putty, due to a rock being thrown from someone getting a little happy with the Awesome Auger. Finally, all the items would then be neatly placed back in the garage on a set of Hercules Hooks.

You're on to something here mori. This product would work well for those who have bladder control problems. Wrap it & forget it...

While they set it and forget it with their Ron Popeil rotisserie.

I have 'em. The Misses ordered, not me. I use a big one for a gun cleaning mat, and it works great! She cleans with the others and they do well. After feeling them, they seem a lil stiff to wipe my vehicles. I say stick with a good microfiber for the car. ShamWOW!!!!

Saw them out here. I'll buy them, once the local chains put them on clearance. Saw a demo on them, they really do work, although I sincerely doubt the "will last for ten years!" portion on their infommercial...

I wouldn't use it on a custom paint job, but for your typical car that gets cleaned 98% of the time by an automatic wash (guilty as charged), the Shamwow is perfect.

And from what my friend told me, they really are serious about you not putting it in the dryer!!!

Maybe the Shamwow is flammable.

I don't own a sham-wow but I do own several synthetic drying chamois. You can buy them at auto stores or Walmart for like 6 bucks.

They are awesome, I assume they are probably no different than sham-wows.

I'm not a fan of microfiber stuff for drying cars, all the microfiber polishing cloths I have don't absorb enough moisture - nowhere near as much as the synthetic chamois.

I've never owned a real leather chamois, so I can't comment how good they are compared to a real one.

Yup, I got some synthetic chammy cloths from the local Chinese knick-knacks store. They cost 99 cents a piece and must be China's top-secret quality product. Super-absorbant and durable. Soaks up all the blood like crazy.

I bought the pack at the International Auto Show at the Philadelphia convention center.
The same guy on TV was at the car show with a big stand showing the product. Its works very well. They do not last long. I have washed mine like 5x and it is no way near its quality as when it was new.

Overall I like the product.

It's all I use on my car's finish. Deerskin is great -- it's naturally waterproof.

What do you wash your hair with? The real thing?
