Bayonne NJ had a pretty unfortunate amazing view of 14 years ago. This has obviously affected the whole country.

Today will be an emotional day for some.. Radios moments of silence, and etc.

If anyone wants or needs to share how 9-11 went for them, let this be the thread.

I was at college in North Brunswick at DeVry zip 08902, disinterested in continuing and failing a Math test from one of my professors. Went out to use restroom, heard two guys in hall talking and whispering "Yo, they flew a plane into the World Trade Center.." And it wasn't a normal day once I went into the cafeteria and saw the TVs.

GOD BLESS

I was getting ready for work, eating bfast while watching the news before anything had happened. I actually saw it all happen live on tv.

It's a sad day, no doubt about it. I remember hearing it on the radio in work, came home and saw the TV footage and I honestly thought it was the end of the world.
If you take all of the US military activity in the area since 2001, I thought all of the conflict we have seen since then was going to happen in a much shorter time frame. I was honestly concerned about a nuclear war scenario. Incredibly grateful it didn't happen.

It's not a time or place to get into politics or whatever, just give a minute for the families of the people died.

It sustained damage. Debris from the North tower and there was a fire. Just by coincidence, the same coincidence that happened to level the twin towers so neatly, it collapsed due to the fire. You know, like all the rest of the buildings that actually collapse from a fire...............

I was out of work in Denver, having been laid off 2 months before. So I'd used the time to finish a novel manuscript I'd been working on. I typed the words "The End," got up to pour some more coffee, turned on the TV, and saw what was going on.

First thing I did was check on Miss Linda, whose mother lives in NY State, wondering if she might have been visiting the city that day. Nope; big relief. Then I checked on a couple of other Internet friends who lived there or in Jersey. All clear there.

It was a very disturbing day, and the entire week, too.

Would it sound better if I had said he 'chose' not to attend the ceremony at the pentagon? It's not like this date 'snuck up' on him. The pentagon is 5 minutes from the white house.

I was prettty young, 8th grade. I had heard something about a plane flying into buildings, but my school did their best to keep it all under wraps. I thought people were talking about a movie or something.

Found out when we got home what happened. It took us a while to get ahold of my father (truck driver) who was down there for work. He was in NJ in a diner when it happened and was watching it on TV.

Regardless of who are the real perpetrators of 9/11 aside...

There were still innocents caught in between who died needlessly. That is the reason I look upon this day with pause.

Remember we ,the people, are still not allowed to see all of the report of the investigation into 9/11. Saudi royal family involvement. Also who sold the market short leading up to 9/11.

I'm looking forward to 9/11 being just a sad day in our past we can all quietly reflect on in our own way rather than the open wound it continues to be every year.

I wish everyone would try to stop one-upping each other with the whole, "I'm being more somber and respectful than you are which means I'm a better American than you are!" competition that happens every year. The media is saturated with it.

OK, the President didn't go the the Pentagon this year. So when is the President allowed to stop going to these things? It's the 14th anniversary of the attacks. I think he should be able to skip it without incurring the wrath of all the wingnuts and haters who have nothing better to complain about.

Uh..oh

You now have a new signature quote.

When my phone charges up a little, I can get just about perfect pics of flags half mast.

What a way to go out. I still think of who was ON FIRE when an elevator door opened..

^^ She was from Bayonne 07002 too. Just like me.

And did you know that everyone that was born in Hudson County New Jersey specifically Hudson County New Jersey which yes that includes myself because I was born in Secaucus in 1982 we all had to get new birth certificate issued by the State because our birth certificates were invalidated somehow? .

The Dust Lady from Bayonne also died last week. (Cancer)
