Schrödinger's Cat is a thought experiment devised by the Austrian physicist Erwin Schrödinger, which he designed to illustrate a paradox of quantum superposition wherein a hypothetical cat may be considered both alive and dead simultaneously because its fate is linked to a random event that may (or may not) occur.

There's a joke involving Ohm, Heisenberg, and Schrödinger traveling in a car. Schrödingerr's cat is in the trunk. A cop pulls them over and hilarity ensues. I'm sure it's copyrighted. you can easily find the joke online. I don't want to get pulled over again for yet another misdemeanor.

Schrodinger's cat experiment was originally an argument against Quantum mechanics that later became part of it. Many physicists feel this side of physics is distracting physicist's from solving real problems. I digress.

Long story on cats with boxes - during the pandemic an old cat started wondering around the neighborhood. We found out he belonged to the old hag on the corner and when we took him back she said he stopped using the litter box and she threw him out, so we moved him into our screen porch which is well protected, made him a bed and a house and left the door open a little. He never messed in the screen porch.

One of the kids threw one of those cut open costco boxes out there, and the cat pee'd in the box. I noticed and thought what the would the cat do this for? Oh wait. I got a litter box and the cat started using it. Moved the cat and the litter box inside to my office. The cat never made a mess once. He only lived a couple years longer - kidneys failed. Vet figured he was maybe 12+ when we got him. I miss our little cat. A Costco box saved him.

Guys, I have to tell you....I have had cats for a while and know full well about their fabulously entertaining desire to check out boxes.
You can't even pack an overnight bag without your cat jumping in. It's quite cute and seems never to get old.
I was being playfully sarcastic.

Many cats will naturally go sit in the box. A cardboard delivery box can be a great cat toy. I think it gives them a sense of security.
my cat does not even wait to get in the box, on top is fine......while removing the contents, he will inspect the contents for approval. this is him probably thinking about how to kill me taken about 5 minutes ago

If you ruminate over that paradox too long you might become catatonic.
And then a catastrophe might ensue...

On a slightly different note, I was joking with a coworker once about a lottery ticket. He asked if I won and I told him that I hadn't checked it so I don't know if I won or lost. Then I said "I guess this means I have Schrödinger's Lotto Ticket."

Thank you, I'll be here all week. Be sure to try the veal and tip your server...
