Rough idle - Running lean?

That engine with 24V is not old tech, there was a GDI version IIRC the first one used in a commercially produced gasoline engine.
I don't know, scan tool date is all about who is interpreting the data, at this point we don't even know how much fuel is being added.
It could be anything from a crack in the pipe at a hanger before the O2, a cracked TB to filter hose, a vacuum leak. a cut or damaged injector lower head seal, name it.
 
These cars (Australian made copy of the Mitsubishi Diamante) are notorious for a poor idle.
Most that I've been in idled pretty bad with the exception of a few.

The idle is similar among all of them.

I don't know if the fact that this is such a common problem that no one has been able to diagnose signifies anything?
 
Sounds like quite a challenge. All of them do it and no one has ever fixed one. Sounds like it's time for another Foster's.
