I see rotella 15w40 failed the noack test on pqioa. Where is the outcry?...lol
If this was another oil the hens would be yipp'n like old ladies.

Thumbs down for Shell. They must be using really cheap Group I base stocks. It's not hard for a 15w40 to pass the NOACK test otherwise.

That's why I always used Mobil Delvac 1300 Super 15w40.

I really question your understanding of automotive lubricants. Rotella was if not the one it was one of the few PQIA tested NOAK in HDEO. 1% is within error of testing thus it was not flagged.
Motorcraft is an semi-syn of group II/III basestocks and it tested at 14% NOAK also thus base oils are only a part of an marginal NOAK test.

The kicker is these test are more than 2 years old.

Talk about trolling for effect OP.

Where is the outcry? Umm?

Rotella is nothing more than tractor oil. Found in 5 gallon buckets back by the drawbars... at least in the old days.

Rotella was only first available at WalMart in January of 2010.

Rotella has increased shelf space over the years, it's still tractor oil.(even after the reformulation in 2006 to meet or exceed the CJ-4 standard)

If anyone cared to read...

"The Noack volatility result of 14% is above the specification maximum of 13% but is within the test reproducibility."

EDIT: Dave beat me to it.

Rotella has been in Walmart since the early to mid 2000s, maybe even before that. It is also not just tractor oil. While it is used in both kinds of tractors (agriculture and transportation), it is also used in light and medium duty diesels. One of the most popular oils for Ford, Chevy and Dodge diesels.
