Roomy Hybrids?

There's this thing called a mule. Hybrid of horse and donkey. One size fits most, very economical.
Actually, the hybrid Ford Escape is roomy enough, but I don't know how long they will be making them.
What's the budget? The Prius and Civic Hybrid are surprisingly roomy.
If more city driving is in the picture, Prius gets the nod. If more highway driving is involved, the Civic Hybrid gets the nod.

The Saturn Vue comes in a hybrid version called the Green Line. 27/32 MPG with the 170 hp 2.4L Ecotech I4. I've sat in them personally and they are quite roomy, even in the back seat. The V6 version is currently on my short list of vehicles that I might actually buy to replace my current vehicle.

Really, I am not at the point of serious shopping. Hybrids are interesting technology, and I was just curious if I might comfortably fit in any of them. If I were actually shopping, I'd probably try to find something 2 - 3 years old and
