Robert Redford Passing

Im getting anxiety coming online, it's like the whole world is dieing.
You're aged X. Your relevant heroes are aged X+20 то X+infinity. Both numbers are likely high, and north of 70.

They lived a good life. If they lasted longer they'd outlast you.

Boulder Colorado is becoming the new home of the Sundance Film Festival. In a way it's kind of appropriate as Colorado was one of his favorite places as well. He went to CU but if the rumors are true he partied a little to much and spent to much time skiing which upset the CU baseball coach (he had a scholarship to play ball). That kind of ties in with Downhill Racer and The Natural. He was known for being a waiter at The Sink a local beer joint on The Hill next to campus (way before he was famous). The sad part is everyone was looking forward to his attendance at future festivals here. I guess everyone expected him to live forever! Hopefully Boulder will do him proud!

Fantastic movie. I’ve never met another angler that didn’t love that film with the rivers scenes being particularly memorable.
An exploration of the book's author Norman Maclean is fascinating. Well, maybe for me because his early career is in line with mine. There's lots of life lessons intertwined between the fishing scenes. Redford did a fine job directing it. RIP.

I talk to my 20 something college student employees and many do not know who Robert Redford is. A sign of my age. Sigh.

The wife and I went for a long ride today, to check out some Fall colors. Rode past Mr. Redford's place. There were a few flowers placed at the gate.

RIP

I heard a story about which Redford was up for a role that ultimately went to Dustin Hoffman, because Redford was too 'perfect' for the part and not relatable enough as an everyman. The director was interviewing him to gauge his interest and asked Robert if he "ever struck out with a girl"? Redford just stared at him and said "what? What do you mean"?

Do you remember what movie the role was for?
If I were to wager a guess, I would say, "The Graduate"???
I suppose that I could look it up but, I'd rather not.
