It's been a rough day for stars from the 1960s. Mary Travers( of Peter, Paul, & Mary) died at age 72 from leukemia. And Henry Gibson(Laugh-In) is dead at 73.

Back in high school, I used to do modified versions of Henry Gibson poems at football pep rallies. Such as: The Feather, by Henry Gibson.

For those who remember, no explanation needed- for those who don't, it'd be difficult.

And there was a time when Mary could belt out a song with the best of 'em. Way back when, I think the only "young folks record" we had in the house was Peter, Paul, & Mary: In Concert . (Yes, P,P&M were far left in politics, but let's keep it to their music, OK?)

"The feather is a wonderful thing,
Without it the birds could not fly!
In addition..."

That is sad. I was brough up on PP&M music - one of my fathers absolute favoutie groups. Played it all the time.

All kids should know about 'Puff, the Magic Dragon'!

My mom used to sing me PP&M tunes as a child. I hadn't heard she died. RIP.

And I never watched Laugh in, but I remember Gibson as the Anti-Blues Brothers Nazi. Painting his eagle sculpture.
