returning used oil

Whatever. Not all people get hostile when attacked. All he had to say was his sister was wrong, he wasn't happy about it, and ended it there. If he really wanted to do the right thing he could have informed Wal-Mart. If he didn't I'd understand because he might have feared getting lil sis in trouble.

He doesn't like wal-Mart, stated that, and then changed it into 2 wrongs. But whatever! I know what I would have done, and it appears several others think he was wrong too. As they say to each his own, and what comes around goes around.

We are all allowed our opinions, I see yours, I stated mine.

I always check. Seems in the NY area returning used oil for a refund was pretty common, the stores quickly caught on. I still check though.

I'm thinking he was kidding...................I'm surprised it made it this far too. It looked like it could have been headed for a locked thread status.

It doesn't end at oil. People buy computers and open them and swap in junk slow MB's, hard drives etc then return them. I think the WMs around here move their rude feeble incompetent folks to customer service to annoy them into retirement, or annoy the customers into not returning stuff.

I tried on and bought a set of jeans at WM, they fit perfect so I got a 2nd set, they were tight. Wore them for an hour hoping they'd stretch in, nope, tried returning with all the tags etc on, nope "they're dirty", I wash them, try again, "they've been washed"...

yeah i figured he was kidding. just try to imagine what your local PD would do if you printed out this thread and brought it to them. it would end up on their breakroom table for everyone to get a laugh

as for locking the thread... might as well... its not like anyone is actually answering the original questions....

This is no big deal. The next person buying it will find they just bought a jug of used oil. They will bring it back and exchange it for a proper jug, because the original one is defective. WalMart will check their records, and see that the customer has not done this before, and allow the exchange. The next time WalMart will be more careful with who they refund. WalMart makes many BILLIONS in profits, have singlehandedly TAKEN AMERICA DOWN, better that anything Bin Laden could have done, and they go along their merry way, stealing American jobs, and transferring the to the COMMUNIST COUNTRY of China - which by the way is not even really Communist, it is just a dictatorship that CALLS itself Communist. Don't give them their money back, and the next time you get a chance to cheat them - GO FOR IT!!!

its easy and has been stated many times. So one more time. You didn't make a mistake your sister DID. BUT by you doing NOTHING YOU ARE making a mistake, at minimum call the walmart , you don't have to tell them who you or your sister are per say. Have them remove the used item so it doesn't screw someone else over. Then talk to your parents and have them get the daughter/sister to return the money. This world is going downhill so fast, lets try to take the high road here and show that there still are some honest good people who will do the right thing when the chips are down.
Weather walmart is a dishonest company or not is immaterial, two wrongs never make a right.....

Honestly, when you posted this thread. How did you think people were going to react? These are people that are obsessed with oil. Should have posted it in a Walmart forum or thieves forum.

On a similar note, I once sold a pc computer game at a yard sale for $3. The guy brought it back after an hour or so because he changed his mind. I said no problem and gave him his $3 back. I didn't think to check the box, it was only $3 and who would rip me off for $3. I sold it again later except the guy came right back and told me the cd was missing. Effing crooks.

That's crazy..

I am locking this thread because it is going no where. Sometimes we need to talk about things that bother us. #1. jakegday stated that he told his sister to take the oil to be recycled and she did not. She is the one that took the money and he told her to return the money but she did not. Have you tried to talk reason to the average 17 year old? #2. He is unemployed and looking for a job and we all know that your bills do not go down just because you lost your job. I would suggest he talk to their parents and ask them to put pressure on the daughter to make it right. She could say she returned the wrong bottle and return the money.
