TIP -- Just stumbled upon this part of the Advance Auto website. I'm impressed! Quick, easy, and based upon my personal experiences, pretty accurate.

Contains oil gelling issues with Toyotas and Audi/VW's, Honda's AT problems, TSB information and much more!

If the link doesn't work, it's 'Advance Auto Parts', then on the middle left hand side, click 'reliability ratings'. Def worth checking out!

My '51 Ford checked out O.K.

My 94 Grand Am said engine moderate problems. I assume they lump the 4 cylinder and 3.1L V6 together to get the average reliability? Otherwise, they are way off. Anyone ever hear of a leaking intake manifold gasket or maybe they don't consider that an engine problem?

You sure about which V6 is in the Grand Am? I thought the two they used were the 3.0 and 3.3.

CBDFrontier06,
I'm very sure as I own one. It is VIN 'M'. The gaskets have been replaced once & are about to be replaced again. One can almost coincide the changing of spark plugs with the gaskets since the plugs need to be changed with the gaskets.

Frontier, the 92 and 93 got the 3.3L (with a 3 speed auto). In 94, with the addition of a couple of other things (like a driver's side airbag and 4 speed auto), they went to the 3.1L V6. I'll never understand why - I had a 92 with a 3.3L and then a 98 GT with a 3.1, and the 3.3L was much more entertaining to drive and better MPGs to boot.
