Hi,

I have had 5 Qts of Redline 5W-20 unopened sitting around for a while.
Which of these two vehicals would you use this oil in? SM GF-4

2007 Honda Accord 2.4 Liter, inline 4, with 37,000 miles or
2003 Ford Ranger 3.0 Liter, V6, with 72,000 miles.

Both will use factory spec'd oil filters, both vehicals will see the same basic driving conditions. Stop and go, 19 miles to work, will see the heat of summer in a few months.

Thanks for your replies!

Either, Redline 5w20 is basicly a 30wt with a higher HTHS (film strength, protection) than most 30wts. I would have to know what oil the vehicles have been run on to say which vehicle I would run it in. Which vehicle do you drive more?

Thanks for all the replies!
Honda and Ranger are driven equally, miles, conditions.

Accord has mostly a diet of MC5-20 for it's 37,000 mile life.

Ranger has had a diet of Synthetics,Mobil 1,Amsoil,PP,mostly 5w30 even as it is spec'd for 5W-20. UOA was showing a higher than average lead (Pb) count with the 5W-20 so I went with 5w30 and the Pb count went down.

Ranger is mine, Accord is my Girlfriend's and I service both vehicals.
It would be interesting to see how the Redline would hold up in the Ranger (Pb count) which seems to like 5w30 oils. Then again with Summer heat here and stop and go traffic, a thick 5W-20 Redline could do well in the Accord....
