I've got an 07 Corolla with 36k miles, ATF is factory as far as I know. I want to avoid having to drop the pan, so I would like to do a cooler line flush with the Redline. That would be followed with a drain and refill every 15-20k miles. Is that overkill? Should i just do a drain and refill with the Redline now and every 15-20k in the future?

Also, I wanted to get a Magnefine filter. How often should they be changed? Lastly, do any Corolla owners know if i need a washer for the ATF drain plug?

The 15k drain/refill regimen is good enough.
Replace the magnefine at every 2nd d/r.

All Toyota's that I've worked on had washers on the drain plugs. I've reused them multiple times.

I would up the drain and fill to 30k. I always flip metal gaskets on drain plugs. No problems with leaks to report from that. I never used a Magnefine so not sure.

I would probably do two or three drain and fills within a week or two of each other to try and get as much concentration of the D4 as I could. Then do a drain and fill every 30K-50K. The D4 is a very good ATF. Can't help you on the filter.

how many D&R with D4 to stop the gear whine?

Not speaking for rszappa1, but I did a cooler line flush on a acura TL with gear whine using Redline D4. No more noise. Also has been working superb in my 06 camry se going on 26k!

My 06 Corolla calls for T-IV, and I believe the 07 does as well. Red Line D4 would be the proper spec for it.

I've installed a Magnafine in my 08' Corolla and did a D&R with OE T-IV. I think D4 is a definite upgrade and would have no problem running it 30K.

I think the magnefine would be good for 1 year.
I have used them on my Windstar for years.

If you put one on the power steering, it should be good for yearS.

I have used Redline D4 in my windstar for years......and plan to use it in my 2003 Sienna.
I plan to ALSO use it in the power steering.

Toyota makes it easy....and puts a drain plug on the transmission.
For my Windstar, I change the ATF each year......internal Transmission filter every OTHER year.
I plan to do the same with my Sienna.
I expect that this will be OVERKILL for the Sienna (thought I would say that before someone tries to point it out)
