TBN depletion is not exactly linear. I have no doubt you could push the OCI another 1500 miles and still have a cushion. But to me 15.5K OCI is still good to me.
 
^I don't doubt the potential, I doubt the value gotten out vs the value left to be had. That's just my approach. The tool is essentially used up just holding on, in real terms. It may deplete in a month if he started seeing less than 3 mile trips, for example.

Non-linear nearly equates to predictably unpredictable, only a reliable guess. Translation: It can go either way, the rate of depletion that is.

Yes, this would make an interesting comparison but it would simply be an academic exercise. The primary purpose for particle counts was to evaluate the new microgreen oil filter against a K&N to see if the microgreen was truly an effective bypass design or a marketing ploy.

For this purpose, the test is referenced against itself (Blackstone methodology) and clearly shows the microgreen filter has the better filtering performance. At this point, I don't see a need or use in continuing particle counts.
