I have been reading here on the forums for the last few days to search before asking. I recently bought a Acura RSX base model and would like to know what others are using. This car has 13,500 miles on it and it has vavoline dino in it. I plan on changing it soon to something like M1 5w20.

Before I had an 1996 Accord 130K miles used M1 5w30 with good results. My 01 CR-V I use Syntec Blend.

What do other Acura owners say? The manual recommends Acura Precision Crafted Motor oil....

Thanks in Adavnce!

We had great success with M1 5w30 in our 94 integra (188k miles), but tried Pennzoil platinum and it seems thus far to be equally good, and the engine seems to be ever so slightly more smooth.

I'd use either with confidence.

I wouldnt say I am "set" on 5w20, its just wants in the manual. Although I can use 5w30....

I've got a 2004 base RSX and use Havoline 5W-20 based on the information I've gleaned from the site. It seems that the Havoline is loaded with moly, which Honda engines seem to like.

I have a RSX Base M '06 from new and I've used a LOT of different oils....already. Good/Better/Best would be something like Havoline Dino/Pennzoil Platinum/Mobil 0w30 SL. Don't ask me to justify my picks, just saying what I ~think~. Another line-up could be GTX/Syntec Blend/Syntec.

What OCI are you going to run in the RSX? If you're going to run the normal 10K interval, as I do, I'd recommend a synthetic. If the 5K OCI is your style than any dino should do the trick.

M1 5w30 is the catch all. It'll work fine for 10K. PP 5w-20 is giving me some oil consumption that I don't get with the 30 weights. GC 0w30 made the car a little sluggish, think its too thick for this application.

My pick for dinos at 5K would be MC 5w-20. Its priced right in the 5 qt. jug at Wallys.

I have your predecessor, the Integra and I use either Valvoline or Havoline in it. The first 125k or so it was purely Valvoline but in the latest change I used Havoline because I got it on sale. You'll be fine with pretty much any SM rated oil.
