I used rotella at first in my truck engine after it was rebuilt, the oil that was always used in the engine before the rebuild was penzoil 10W30 and what ever the military used in it before me but it had 87,000 miles (unknown idle hours) on it, and it was lacking power and was smoking and i decided to rebuild it, i went 060 over, and put a high Volume oil pump on it (about 95 Psi at startup, 75psi warm) And with the rotella 15W40 (no additives) i was driving some of the trails around my house, to do some engine break in, and i watched my oil pressure Drop suddenly to about 10 psi, so i shut it down, didnt see any leaks, so i put a drain pan under it on the trail, and when i drained it, it was a frothy White milky oil, later i had the oil tested it wasnt abnormal, nothing strange in it, just the normals for engine breakin, luckally i had a 5 gallon pail of Delo 400 15W40 in the Shop, it put it in there and since then i have always used delo 400 in it, i have ran it around and drained it and no foam, the oil pressure looks good, I always used the delo 400 in my 6.2 litre diesel truck i had with 2 quarts of Lucas to it ever oil change and it ran great)

You posted this before. I think there are some missing elements to this story and they are missing to support a bias.

Im assuming that the reason it foamed was due to oil pressure, I Will say i have used the rotella in a 1987 Ford tempo, with no foaming problems, so i really dont know what to say, But with this engine it foams.

Just how steep a hill were you on?

There's absolutely no reason why you'd foam the oil and lose oil pressure with Rotella... and it wouldn't happen with Delo under the same conditions. Something missing in this story. I suspect this has something to do with the (completely unneccesary) high-volume oil pump, possible problems with the rebuild, underfilling/overfilling, and/or operator stupidity involving excessivly steep grades.

But by all means... continue to use Delo if it's working for you. Good stuff, that Delo.

I agree with Jim Allen. Good thing you didn't have Delo in during the first fill because if you lost oil pressure with that then what? Rotella might have had to be the saviour.

Use your delo. That leaves more rotella for me on the shelves at wallyworld. Nothing wrong with delo but I have had very good luck with rotella.

the Truck im talking about with the rebuild is 1976 Dodge M882 5/4 ton, NP4530, Np203, Dana 60 rear 44 Front 4.10 gears, 318 .060 over

there is no reason to use a high volume pump whatsoever.
rotella/delo oil has nothing to do with your frothing.
your 95/75 psi is causing your issues and your loss of 20 hp.
lose the HV pump and your engine will last much longer.
all you will ever need is 10 psi per 1000 rpm 60 psi max is all any street driven vehicle needs

I believe both Delo and Rotella are good oils for the money. I recently ran Delo 15w40 CI4+ oil in a 90 V6 Ford Ranger about 6 months/10k miles and it seemed to do well and consumption was lower compared to Amsoil 10W-40 that was in it previously. I actually did not mean to run it that long but made several trips to OH and FL, so a lot of highway miles on that run. The Amsoil did ok, but certainly cost more. I will try the new CJ Rotella next after picking up several gallons for $7 each. Right now got Schaeffers 15w40 blend in it and the consumption has dropped to an all time low of 1 quart in 5k miles!
