Rant: Left Foot Brakers

Using the left foot to brake ain't the problem (it provides for better, quicker action in the first place, and, when necessary to use both throttle and brake, can't be beat).

Your thread should be retitled.

If I had used my left foot to brake in the driver's ed car or during my state driver's test, they would have flunked me on the spot.

Left foot is for 1) the deadpedal or 2) the clutch.

that was Bob Newhart

By the way, for any Mad TV fans, you may remember the scene with Tim Conway and the one regular female actor where Conway plays a therapist. He promises her the session won't take more than a few minutes then, as soon as she starts telling him her problem, he shouts "STOP IT!" as the solution to her problem. At one point, she tells him several problems at once and he shouts "STOP IT! STOP IT! STOP IT!", once for each problem.

Just in case anyone missed the reference in my OP.

I thought the left foot was to be used for the clutch?

What idiotic showoff SUV-driving soccer mom can be bothered to clutch? In case you were wondering, she is too good to shift her own gears, and she is so much better than you and I that we best get out of her way, lest she be late to pilates or to her kids' soccer practice...
