Random Observation Outback VS S10

It’s amazing how much larger modern vehicles are than those from just a couple decades ago.

Last week, I had a mid-90’s Nissan hardbody pull up next to me in my ‘25 Frontier. My truck, which is the smallest in the midsize segment, dwarfed that little thing. lol
A few days ago, I was driving behind a Nissan, thinking it was an Altima, but it was a Sentra.
My wife had a 2005 Sentra, and I, being 6.2, was really struggling when driving it. This new Sentra looked like a full-size car.

My friend had an 80's sentra and i remember it being cramped. I saw one a few years ago at a parking lot and it looked narrower than even a mitsubishi mirage and identical in length and sure enough the mirage is larger than it. They have grown a lot.

Yeah, I realized that as well. I went shopping for trucks about 7 years ago & realized F-series tailgate tops were up to my chest or higher. Things got bigger that's for sure!

Vehicles are definitely getting bigger. I want to say it's due to safety, but probably it's just American's want big.

An interesting comparison. My '24 Taco vs. an '03 S10

The smaller the truck, the higher the fuel efficiency required. The bigger the truck, the lower efficiency required.

The s10 is tiny in that vintage. I parked next the truck version and it’s small at best. Reminded me of the 1980s size Japanese trucks.
