looks like it was at the inspection building.

search "rainbow bridge bomb" because posting links without repeating what is already in the link is against bitog policy.
and not much is currently known.

Thank you Dnewton3 for advising me of this policy as I had forgotten.

Edit: Added a search link. to replace article link that is banned by bitog rules.

Have a megahead cold today.. everything is ... *fuzzy*

This is in my neck of the woods. Closed government buildings and hospitals are on higher security.

Odd that it blew up, but who knows at this point in time. Maybe someone wanted to go out in a big way (packed some sort of improvised explosive), maybe it was just a bad day for them (one too many drinks, did not intend to, but the car burst into flames when crashed--a lot of damage at those speeds). Need to wait for the investigation.

Not a lot to go on at this time, so bad to speculate much less take an opinion, but for me, doesn't seem like much to worry about.

It's getting out, I have actually met the guy in this and it's sad. From an old money family in the Falls area perhaps beset with the same curse the Kennedy clan has, old money combined with the instinct of a moth-to-the-flame...

Wait. You knew they guy who was driving that car?

If it is whom I told it was (by a friend that went to high school with him), I met with him about 10 years ago multiple occasions for business reasons, nice guy but a bit off. I'll wait 'til the name is released to comment further. Hardworking despite coming from money, the family always was doing something and did well with a few businesses. Just sad if that is the case but at least no innocent bystanders were killed or seriously hurt...

I don’t think there’s any smoking gun here.
Except for some nutcase, who went 100 miles an hour, and on impact, the gas tank blew up.
However, headlines by leading a narrative/insinuation of a bomb, of which there is no proof yet.

Denzel Washington had a great little conversation with a reporter some years ago. That conversation describes the media response to this incident perfectly.

a reporter asked him what he thought of “fake news.” Denzel replied, “If you don’t read the newspaper, you’re uninformed. If you do read it, you’re misinformed.”

“So what do you do?” the reporter asked.

“That’s a great question. What is the long-term effect of too much information? One of the effects is the need to be first, not even to be true anymore.”

The last sentence sums up the current state of mass media.

One account I read earlier today said the occupants were north of the border to attend a KISS concert which got cancelled. Subsequently, they went to a casino before returning. One wonders if the driver was heavily intoxicated?

Another article I saw said the car was a Rolls Royce of all things. Sounds like a something out of a trashy romance novel.

Vehicle was a Bentley flying spur with a well known recall issue for stuck accelerator. Driver was a prominent businessman from nearby Grand Island, NY. He and his wife were headed to the (postponed) Kiss concert in Toronto. Theyd stopped at the Seneca Casino to exchange currency.

Thanks for the details!
