Shippers would kill for that. Around here, 200,000 mile examples bring over $3K at the auction.

I would count my stars if I got 3K for the well maintained babied vehicle - my wife told me to dump it once we got the MB, I said no.
It has had atleast 2 front ends and one backend damage (one time it s a deer). So yes, a salvage fender wouldn't make a difference to the resale value.

In that case, not worth fixing. It might need a headlight though, looks like the tabs are broken on it so it'll be blinding oncoming traffic and not contributing much to lighting the road. You might be able to epoxy them and reaim.

Broken tabs are no problem at all, You can even make new ones out of this stuff and it will last as long as the original would have.

OK for a cheaper car but paint won't be an exact match and will stand out.

It's a 2006, so it is a cheap car. They use the same paint code as the local body shop.

I've used one, matched perfectly.

It may or may not be that simple depending on color, body shops spray let down panels and blend because paint can vary, even within the same color code...

Fender or bumper? Bumper not such an issue. Fender can stick out like a sore thumb. Body shops tint the paint to match the faded shade on the car currently. Painting by color code will be pretty obvious on any car more than a year or two old.

Shopping around body shops who will pain a fender (each one is an assshole with their warranty mantra).
I need to find an el-cheapo painter to get the job done all the guys who run the body shop are snorty as [censored].

Well, would you like taking a painter off a $2-3,000 job to paint a fender for $100-150?

Check out car-part.com. You just might find replacement parts that match. Every once in a while I find a used fender or bumper that matches perfect. You might get lucky.

It was a fender on a Traverse. Paint isn't going to fade much or at all unless the clear coat is gone.

Sure, they can spend as much time as needed matching it perfectly. And keep racking up the hours doing it.
