so i Picked up a Quaker State Filter @ Menards for $1.99
Might Run with it, or thinking of making it a "Virgin sacrifice" to the BITOG Boards... any interest in seeing what she's made of?

if so, as some one with no pipe/tubing cutters, no dremel, but i do have a Hacksaw! recommendations for dissection?

I Know it's made by purolator.

what really threw me about it, is that i know it's a Purolator, but they use Fram Part #'s

or is it just coincidence that the one for my car is a QS3614, and the frams are XX3614?

I will Probably end up using it...
If you have a Menards near you, untill the 24th(this Friday) they have these Filters, and Formula Shell quarts on sale for $1.99 ea., or a $12 Oil Change. (filter and 5 Qts, car takes 4.5)

The generic Fram numbers have been used by many for years. Disregard as it has no bearing on that QS filter.

I'm running a QS16 right now. It is a rebranded Puro Classic that I also picked up at Menards. It's a shorter and narrower filter than the Mopar M-090 I had been running. Although the filter book they had on hand listed it was an applicable fit, I was hesitant because of the size difference. I picked it up anyway because it was on sale. Supposedly QS is streamlining their part numbers and stretching them across more applications. Anywho, It's coming off in a month or two and I could cut mine open if you want to save yours. I know it won't be virgin, but...

I also have a QS4386 For My one Buddy's '03 Pontiac Vibe Pizza wagon, he puts around 2k City miles on it a month...so i'm sure it won't be terribly long before i can cut that one open dirty...

(if you're in NW Columbus, OH and your Papa Johns Driver is in a sliver Vibe, it's probably him)

He Bought it Summer '10 w/120k mi(now in the neighborhood of 150k). know nothing of it before then, save it was obviously in wreck, the body work ahead of the b-pillar looks to have been done exceedingly cheaply/quickly/ in a "that'll do" attitude.
he was using quickie lube specials until i did the change in December (PYB 5w30, k&n HP-1003)he should be getting near the 5k point any time now, just need to get days off in sync.(have a UOA kit from Blackstone, want to see what kind of shape this engine is in.)
