There are two jugs left sitting on the WM shelf, one of the Ultimate Durability old label and one with the "new" dexos label both in 5w-20. The car is an 09 and won't tell the difference. Which one should I grab? Is there really a big difference? The new label is definitely cooler looking though!

If same price choose the new one; otherwise if cheaper go for the old one. Your engine would not know the difference.

Always choose a manufacturer's approval when you can. Whether it be GM, MB, or VW. These must pass more stringent tests than general industry specifications. Some, even on this site, bury their head in the ground as if all mineral oil is the same. Additives DO make a difference! The ironic thing is that often the approved oils do not cost more than the lackluster oils that provide more profit margin for the oil company that does not use superior additives. Beneficial information is provided on this site for the education if you do not heed the naysayers.

IIRC, many Oils were Dexos certified, but did not carry the Dexos logo. I'd go with the logo, it's newer stock.
