purolator classic L20195 ..i bought 4 for my JEEP liberty at WALLMART ..and after reading media tearing on the forum i decided to cut one open [brand new oil filter] and found a 1 inch tear where the media is glued together ..F11E 09B1 ....i won't even open the other 3 remaining oil filters ..very disappointed ..so much for the 97.5 efficiency ..i also noted that WALMART went back to the FRAM oil filters [now i know why]

Any pics ??

Why not cut the other 3 and post pics of all of them? The more data the better.

That's not a tear, that is the glued seam at the media joint. Cut the media all the way around at the end caps and hold that portion up to the light and see if the hole goes through or not.

Yep, those Mann guys really have done a lot to improve Purolator's quality control.
Glad you posted this, especially since the "2XX..." Purolator part numbers were supposed to be better.

Well, I guess that is one way to keep the media from tearing at the end cap potting, just let all the oil go through the seam...
