I will take a couple pictures tomorrow if the weather clears up.

My guess is that the cream colored potting material just doesn't stick very well to metal.

would you bee happy if they just stick some cardboard on it and called it a day lol

I wonder why I have in my had two discs that were not glued to the metal end caps, and look more robust than Fram orange end caps or an Ecore end cap.

I guess I am dreaming all this up.

I think many here would be happy if you would get off the constant trolling. LoL

Actually, the flow won't be slowed down by more restriction (ie, PD pump), but rather the delta-p across the filter would increase.

I'm not sure why you are obsessing over the holes in the center tube. Mobil 1 oil filters have holes that are virtually identical to the new Puros yet they all work just fine.

The media looks a little off center to me but I doubt it matters one whit.

I can certainly understand the OP not caring how well the filter well...actually filters either?

I call them like I see them and this filter definitely looks robust I certainly would be surprised if there were any types of failures reported as this filter hits the streets.

This is the Mercedes filter made by Mann. I wonder if can be said it is the same media as the Boss, by looking at pictures of each. The potting material is different, like spray foam when hardened, but there are no end caps. I show the box to prove MB sells it and approves it. The media when folded as made into a finished filter is quite rigid and strong. It bends in under pressure but is strong. This filter is a bit old, but new out of the box. I had no use for it, so no loss, have a couple more. It had a lightly glued string on the outside of the pleats. That string started to come off as I handled the filter more. The plastic mesh was pretty hard to peel off the media that's why I only did the corner.

^^^ Probably is the same media since it is Mann-Hummel running Purolator.

I fixed it for you Zee!

So, the Ultra has metal wire backing and the Boss uses plastic and that is fine for the Puro fanboys. But the Fram orange can has fiber end caps which the media actually sticks to and Tearolators use metal end caps that pop off if you stare at them funny and that is better?

Fanboys will be fanboys.....

I don't think Fram has much to learn about making a filter from Purolator. Fram already makes a low end filter that commands too high of a price and has way too much market share. And, they also know how to properly make a top end filter, too.
