This is off my autocross car, a 96 Tercel with a hybrid (gen1 bottom end/gen2 top end) 5efe thats turbocharged. 2100 miles on the dot over the last 6 months. HPL pcmo 5w30. Same filter and oil went back on. This will carry me to next spring.

No suprises, filter did the job. This motor still sheds a little aluminum but each time its less and less. I did change to stiffer valvesprings during this. The magnets I run picked up some slurry. I was contemplating chucking the motor after this season for a 1nzfe but it keeps trucking along making good power.

I also included pics of the process. First time changing the oil with my splitter on so I had to make a little guide that worked well. Access to the filter is tight because of my air intake thats not quick to remove. Luckily I had an old Amsoil cup that fits and I was able to crack it loose with that then just barely get my arm down in there to undo the filter. But I had to fish it out from the bottom.

I’d say if motor is strong hopefully aluminum will taper off. Jist keep doing what you are doing. Don’t look like any “junk” in can which is good. Where do you get these filters? Thanks

Rockauto. Yeah I think I can go another season with it. The head was machined when I built this motor and I assume its all from that and wasnt cleaned out properly.
