Project Farm >>>> Tests Floor Jacks

Only 1/3 or so of the way through the video and clearly the Massdam (never heard of 🤷‍♂️) is made by the same company as the red Pittsburgh and Husky. Problem is, it really looks like they buy the jacks that don't meet Harbor Freight's quality spec. I know people will laugh about that too....

Are PF's videos (slightly) sped up ? His speaking sounds too fast. He definitely edits out gaps between his commentary.

You'll get the Snap On fans riled up with that comment !

Nothing against Snap-on. I love them!

Just the fact they had to try suing Harbor Freight when at the end of the day the parts for the jack were coming out of a Chinese factory is sad & misleading. "Assembled in the USA" is as sketchy as it gets.

You know that any contracts they make with manufacturers now include clauses related to sales to "competitors" ! I know they call it "assembled" here in the US and I'm really curious how they get away with that or what they're doing. They can't do something like bolt (2) pieces together and call that "assembled" either, it has to be substantially assembled here and still needs to say something like "with global parts".

The daytona is obviosly the best value for the money. I have an old made in USA 3 ton Hein Werner and HF 2 ton aluminum jack, the HW doesnt get a lot of use, it is just too heavy, I love the aluminum. I think I will buy the 3 ton aluminum and flog the HW.

Jack prices really went up. Pre-Covid, That HF Pittsburgh was around $85 w/coupon and the Daytona, $200.

Wait. What am I even looking at.

Here is the Pittsburgh for $160: https://www.harborfreight.com/3-ton-low-profile-floor-jack-with-rapid-pump-56617.html

Here it is again, but for $110 claiming parking lot sale (but can be ordered online) but also states was $145: https://www.harborfreight.com/3-ton-floor-jack-with-rapid-pump-56624.html
The first one is low profile.

I know the Maasdam name from their Pow'r Puller, aka come-along. Not sure I've ever used their come-alongs, but they're a prominent player in that market.

The welds shown on the Maasdam-branded floor jack are atrocious

Thanks I overlooked that. It was the low profile that was $85 pre-covid, then I got one in spring of 2020 for $98 but was backordered 2 months. I'd never bought anything heavy from HF's site to be shipped to me (vs in-store purchases), was surprised it was only $7 shipping for the jack and a separate box of stuff.

I needed a 2nd 3 ton a few months back - and nobody had one … came home with a 4 ton Torin Big Red …
My back still hurts … 😳

Funny to see that half of them all came out of the same factory lol.

I like my big Powertorque 3.5 ton jack. Which probably also came out of the same factory. Mine has good welds though. But it’s SO darn heavy. I regret purchase simply due to that. My next one if this thing ever dies I’ll buy an aluminum jack.

How much does that weigh ? I have a Daytona long-reach, low-profile and it weighs right around 100 lbs, as I recall. It's also physically huge, both length and width.

Yep: 100.8 lbs … my 3 ton … same brand is just 60 lbs …
The 4 ton does have a longer stroke - so that’s likely a factor …
My aluminum jacks (2) are just 1.5 ton …
