You can't change it yourself, you will have to donate for the donate avatar or pm an administrator for military avatar

You get the "cash donor" image by being a cash donor. That means donating something to help run the site. The Donate button is at the bottom of the sidebar at left of your screen.

Go to Toyotanation, Tundratalk or (insert some non-Toyota forum here) and pages take forever to load, lots of ads and fluff and junk. BITOG loads pages at a decent clip, and for the most part I just want to read the comments pretty quickly.
After a while I recognize user names and sig lines. Not sure why I'd "follow" anyone, this isn't some social site, getting likes and dislikes. I guess it is a bit of a social site, since many of us are here (way too much!) but I rather like the minimalist approach.
