Priority Mail Big Increase

I stopped shipping packages USPS Priority because they don't get there any faster than USPS ground advantage and get lost a lot less. I'm not sure what's going on at USPS, but it's not good.

Let me get this straight, USPS's performance has significantly decreased and they get a rate increase? Ask FedEx or UPS if it works that way.
5-7 days Priority mail vs 10-14+... ground advantage (aka parcel post).
Had a package take 3 weeks recently

The rates bite hard if you ship daily in volume regardless of it's a nothing burger as some said. Trust me it's a something burger...

Heard a quote last night. I certainly was in the crosshairs: "The good Lord gave me the right to remain silent. Only not the ability to do so!"
Oh well, so......
This week it cost me more to mail a tiny package to one of the grandkids than the cost of what the wife had me send to him.

A small padded envelope light as a feather. Cost for 5-7 days = almost $9.00. I suppose all of us are feeling like we are going thru the grinder lately with prices of everything.

Last two times I placed an order for motor oil I accidentally checked USPS for shipping. Results both times= Box shipped almost instantly. I tracked package. It came about 600 or more miles in a couple days. USPS reported it @ their facility less than 18 to 20 miles from me.
The next day it was sent on its way from there for an over 1200 miles trip to New Jersey before being sent all the way right back here. Over 10-12 days to arrive after my packages (both times) got treated to only over 3000 miles round trips across the USA. How does that stuff happen? Twice in a few months? The seller did their part flawlessly only I got sabotaged by USPS. I know what not to do in the future.

Just went through this myself. Ordered items that started in New Jersey and status in the beginning made sense; it went from the accepting facility to another facility and then to another one, all in NJ. From there it went to Atlanta. Then back to Jersey. Then to Atlanta again, then back to Jersey. One more round trip then it sat in Jersey for 3 days. Finally started to head west, past the destination to Fox Valley, IL. Then to Bedford Park, IL, which is a large facility in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. This finally made sense because the next stop was the local PO then out for delivery, but why it went *past* Bedford Park to Fox Valley is another mystery. Fortunately, the items finally arrived, in good shape, but the box looked like it had seen things...horrible, horrible things.

All makes one have to wonder..... The system? The Managers? How long have they been Managers? The workers? I'd look at the hard working wage roll employees last. One thing I would bet money on. None of the people employed at those places has a clue of the foolishness that is going on. Really, sending things on round trips all over for no reason. Cost much more money. No wonder the Post Office has operated in the red for years. How efficient and cost effective can that stuff be? Cost to all of us taxpayers for totally BAD run operation? Maybe all the way from top to bottom.
