Post a photo of your oil on dipstick (with miles)

20230902_224344.jpg
2014 Fusion
2.5L I4
202197 miles on the odo
~4500 miles on the Motorcraft 5w20 and FL910S filter.
This is pre-oil change before leaving on a trip to MI. Usually do 5000 mile OCI but I would have eclipsed 5000 miles and probably hit 7500 or more before getting back to Iowa.
It kinda looks like I have 10 qts in the pan but I had just shut it off and pulled the stick.

2023 Tacoma V6. 1596 miles on the truck, about 650 on the oil. M1 5w-40 euro with Cera Tec, which tends to tint the oil a bit orange.

Be prepared for chevy owners especially new age chevy v8s to have extremely dark looking oil within 1k-2k miles. My 01 tundra v8 is always light amber at 4k miles

Looks like my tundras oil at 3500... not Even kidding. I have the 2uzfe 4.7... the best engine they made besides the 1uz. Not surprising that the new age 3.5 tacoma looks that "dirty" in less than 800 miles lololololol

You have a hard time with reading comprehension it seems… The oil is tinted orange from Cera Tec treatment, it’s not dirty, it’s discolored.

My 2019 A5 doesn’t have a dipstick, ***??? Only the computer level display. So I called the dealer asking about one. They said we just remove the plastic cap on the tube and stick a tool down there if we want to manually check. I said oh, so you do have a dipstick…….

Luckily ECS Tuning is making one. It has a nice billet handle, but $60 for a dipstick, REALLY??? And actually billet handles are not great for checking oil on a hot engine….🤣

Liqui Moly Top Tec 0w-30 with about 2,200 miles on it.

Pic is at 4100 miles into OCI. Dipstick is down just a touch. Beings I use 5.5 qt instead of the 5.7 qt recommended, it never reaches the top of the cross hatch markings.

Great entertainment, everyone. I love BITOG. But sometimes, it's a hoot!

How many times have we seen someone post something like this here? "Don't trust used oil analysis results from Blackstone Labs. They are a bunch of amateurs, and push way too many samples through, way too fast, to do a good job on the results."

And then, we hear "I can tell a lot about my engine and motor oil, just by the color of the oil on the dipstick."

:unsure:🥹 😅 :LOL: 😂🤣:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Now at 9,000 miles (Mobil1 5W30), 2016 Toyota Avalon 3.5 V6 131,000 miles. And that’s all I’m going on this interval…did some spirited driving this interval, and quite a bit of sitting in traffic during my daily commute this time around due to construction. No oil added during the entire interval. Oil checked cold.

Next up Amsoil (for the first time ever). Plan on a 12,000 mile interval.

GM 3.6L
Mobil 1 EP 5w30
5,000 miles (cold reading)
OLM - 34%

Spot on. I've seen some high mileage LGZ intake valve pictures and these engines generally show less carbon build up than other GDI engines due to the PCV system set up in this engine. It's basically a built-in catch can. With that said, it would be interesting to see how much of impact different synthetics make on IVD buildup.
