I recently purchased a 2007 GXP 2.0L turbo EcoTec 5-speed with 5,252 miles. It is fully loaded with all the upgrade options possible, these years coming standard with convertible, as the targa top coupe was not released until this past year.

I have put about 600 miles on it so far and am thrilled about the vehicle. I love the drive and the styling of the car.

EPA estimates said 22 mpg/city and 31 mpg/highway, but I am getting a (possible low-end) estimate of almost 29 mpg average on a full tank of gas. I may in fact be relatively close to squeezing the highway mileage out of the tank, being a pretty experienced manual transmission driver.

I would be happy to post pictures if anyone is interested.

Thanks a bunch!

And just for kicks, I like these pictures...

Well, the cockpit reminds me lots of the Fiero.

Two seats, nothing behind them, high center console, short shifter (on manual models, this picture is of an automatic), two round main gauge displays.

With the Solstice, they just smoothed off all of the edges.

Yep, I have heard a number of Fiero owners who really like this vehicle. That must be one of the reasons!

I agree, and Delorean Motor Co. must too, as they have looked at the possibility of manufacturing solely this model alone.
Not sure if that will happen, but I'm loving the car regardless!

I'll admit I never really cared for Pontiac. After all, what purpose have they fulfilled within GM over the last 20 years? Never could really answer that and consequently didn't see any reason to have them around but they certainly hit one out of the park with the Solstice. Great looking car that should deserve to survive the recent downsizing at GM.

Should also make the designers behind the S2000, Eclipse Spider and the (now gone) MR2 think twice about their next move!

Nice car - GM made a real winner with this one. Too bad it will be no more.

Which Amsoil are you running in it?

Hahaha.

I was about to post the following comment above the pictures I posted, but didn't do it. How Ironic.

"And no, this is not my neighborhood."

This is my aunt and uncle's house I have been at waiting for a small house purchase to take place (which is taking FOOOOREVER :enter The Sandlot: ).

I appreciate it!

I actually haven't switched this vehicle over to AMSOIL yet.
I JUST passed 6k miles not too long ago, and the previous owner said they very recently had the oil changed to "synthetic", which I would like to assume would be something like 5w30 M1, since it is printed on the oil cap after all. The car's Oil Life Monitor is down to nearly 15%, which, again, I would have to assume in that they didn't have the OLM reset with the oil change.

Although I would hate to waste decent oil, the obscurity of knowing the facts are not a favorite of mine, so I will be swapping in 0w30 SSO 100% Syn in very shortly.

I am going to try and find out what other fluids came in the differential and transmission and determine if I care to leave them in or if I want to make a complete swap to AMSOIL at one time, for ease of record-keeping. We'll have to see on that, I reckon!

Appreciate it.
I'm amazed at how easy the car accelerates and rolls on the RPMs.

And no, I'm not in neutral. :-P

Friend of mine has the Sky version. That litte turbo car moves out well (and I'm a vette owner so that is saying alot!). I prefer the Saturn for for the looks and interior trim - but that GXP is rare and definetly looks good, better than the lower trim levels!
