what's the G6 based on?

In the 70's Pontiac made great cars..I had a 70 GTO with the 400 engine..It was a great car with no issues what so ever..I took it cross county and had no problems with it..Its sad to see it go..

My neighbor has a 08 G6..She has nothing but problems with it..I don't really know if thats the norm for it or not..

Not sure.... The G8 is basically a Holden......

Why even keep Pontiac or Buick? Both are the same under the skin as a Chevy is. Cut down on the model lines and concentrate your energy to getting back on track. Maybe they could take one or two models from either Buick or Pontiac and transfer to either Chevy or Caddy.

I thought originally they were thinking of severally cutting back the Pontiac moniker no matter what and making just a few import derived cars such as the G8 and selling them at Chevy and Buick dealerships. So this isn't really that shocking...

I think the massive sword poised over all this is the bond holders, will they go for it?
Credit default means they will get more money if GM goes BK,so the big question Fritz would not answer(I watched the news conferance)is how many bond holders are covered by DS? Enough to kill the yes vote? Fritz said as much -bond holders vote no ,we go BK .Brinksmanship

I guess my dream of getting a 1979 Trans Am is going to cost me an extra 5-10K now. I was hoping they'd kill Buick and keep Pontiac.

Why would it cost you more? How will Pontiac stopping production affect the supply and demand of a 1979 Trans Am or the factors that go into restoring it?

If I were you, I wouldn't sweat it.
