This guy must've had a nice polishing/buffing setup and a lot of time. Sure looks pretty!

I try to clean ANY carbon buildup when refurbishing a part. I keep a dedicated pan, some solvent, and a toothbrush for this purpose. I don't make the parts shine, though.

Wife's car is a 99 Accord with the 4 cyl motor. It got to where the accelerator would stick the first time or two after it had sat overnight, then it would drive OK. Read on a Honda board to clean the throtte body and plate with throttle body cleaner using a shop rag. Did this and problem solved. Was a lot more crud than you would have thought.

now as u guys know, i think, i cleaned my throttle body with some sea foam and a rag...couldnt get inside as much. anyways.

i was wonderin if its benificial to polish the whole throttle body like this site did...

I clean the T-body with a shot of carb cleaner and a old toothbrush,at least every other oil change.
Ford says not to clean their T-bodies in that matter as they have a coating on the inside.

i cleaned my throttle body, but i still have this line of guew on where the throttle plate is...its cleared...but its like stained on about a MM above the surface.

what u have a 99 accord with crud already?? **** ...

what does all that dirt in the throttle body mean, bad air filter seal?

im going to clean mine umm next week...i did it about 5k ago...im going to try and clean beyond that too.

hehe that dudes site was polish...man. couldnt understand a word.
