My 96 Camry was painted for the first 3 months ago.

Now the pine trees all around are dripping sap. Normal washings doen't touch the stuff.

I'am thinking clay bar or?

Thanks for knowledgeable replys Gents.

Hey! We had this topic a few months ago. Easiest way to remove it is rubbing (isopropyl ) alcohol on a microfiber. Keep applying and scrubbing. Won't hurt the paint and will remove with little effort. If this doesnt work or doesn't get 100% of the sap removed I recommend a plastic razor blade. Plastic, not typical metal. This will take off the rest.

Goodluck!

They sell bug & tar remover. I would also try either kero or turpentine.

Drive your car down to FL in April and after your car is covered in love-bug crud, a little sap will not bother you.

I fully agree with Stoner's Tarminator if the alcohol doesn't cut it. As mentioned above the plastic razor blades can be a miracle worker on sap.

GooGone works. Actually, on water based clear coat even mineral spirits are ok - be sure to rinse, though, and keep it away from plastic parts.

There is no Kerosene in Terminator from my knowledge, i think it's mainly Xylene, ether and some other solvents. It works so well I buy it by the 5 gallon pail. Doesn't work for a darn on dried on Tree sap though, but it does work on fresh sap and it's excellent for road tar of course.

This may sound nuts but I read that spit and hand sanitizer with a microfiber cloth would work so I tried it and it does!

I've found the best thing for sap and road tar is diesel fuel. Doesn't harm the paint, not as volatile as kerosene, works very quickly without scrubbing and abrading the paint, and I've used it with great success for a long time without any ill effects on paint etc.
