I think it will do just fine, really. The prior installment in my truck 03 burb lt 5.3 V8, (one of three trucks), was Pennzoil Platinum, it cleaned this engine out!!! Overall the truck is in excellent shape, but Penn platinum, just polished up things, and now the penn ultra, its the cherry on the top! I have used Amsoil for quite a few years, and I must tell you, it gives off Amsoil like vibes! My weekly mileage, averages between 1400-1500 miles, all of which is hwy. The penn platinum did extremely well, and their new ultra line supercedes that, IMHO.NO VALVE CHATTER, NOTHING!It seems as though the motor is spinning on butter as it turns over. Also I have noticed on the pour point number for penn ultra 10w30 (-39) it is 6 numbers higher than the penn platinum (-33). Penn Ultra's 5w30 is rated at a -45 pour point. Excellent product, don't believe the hype otherwise!!! All I do is just feather the gas pedal, the engine is so responsive and smooth. I brought the last six qts in one local Walmart, I couldn't wait for the 5 qt jug. Be well!

I just installed 6 qts of the 10w30 with a extra capacity Mobil 1 M-1 206 OIL FILTER, rather than the required Mobil 1 M-1 107 oil filter. Most all of my mileage is 99% hwy, I average out to roughly 25 mpg, with this truck, on the hwy, not bad at all, in fact excellent. The results and response is absolutely wonderful! I started up this morning, and I didn't hear any tapping and or any cold related temporary valve chatter. This oil is beautiful!!!!
