My 2003 chevy suburban LT 5.3 V8, starts up so smooth with this oil. I have been a longtime Amsoil, Mobil 1, and then Pennzoil Platinum fan, just to name a few. But this particular oil, when I start my engine, it spins like butter just before turning over to a smooth robust start up. It sort of reminds me of Amsoil. I just installed 6 qts of the 10w30 with a extra capacity Mobil 1 M-1 206 OIL FILTER. Most all of my mileage is 99% hwy. The results and response is absolutely wonderful! I started up this morning, and didn't any tapping and or any cold related temporary valve chatter. This oil is beautiful!!!!

I didn't want to comment about this oil yet buy when I found it at walmart I bought a jug and put it in my corolla and noticed the same thing no start up noise and seems like the engine is a quiet idle thought it was my imagination

Thats a good start, hopefully it runs well AFTER startup too. Another true test of an oil is how it holds up to being stressed by high rpm, high torque and wide throttle. Does it fall apart, do rings load up or stick, etc. I'm not too wild about the M1 AFE cold start clattering in my Yaris - but its better than castrol syntec. Filter choice seems to make more of a difference than it should, also.

I noticed this too as it is usually 20 to 25 degrees most morning. A few times I forgot the engine was still flat on COLD and preceded to drive much faster than normal on a cold engine.

Johnny, retirement sounds like a happy place!

This PU hype is getting the better of me. I know, it's all hype and placebo, but that's what us humans fall for time and again.

I just might have to make the 45 minute drive to the walmart across the border in Ogdensburg for a new and exciting weekend adventure!

I buy the smooth additive so I may use it in any oil.

I'm not buying the hype unless there is a $15 rebate involved.

If there was no M1 oils I have always said I would go with PP, or PU.

gulfstream,

If engine tapping was your concern in the past I've used Quaker State "Q" synthetic oil in my 01' Dodge Durango V-8 ans never had that issue. I've heard/read that it's more associated with the oil filters instead of the actual oil itself.
