Spend the $2-$3 and then go celebrate with your favorite beverage of choice on top of that!

Haha, it's not being a "tight wad". For the price, I could have gone with my usual Mobil 1 EP and actually been able to trust it for a year/15,000 miles!

What is odd is the fact they have yet to update their PDS's. That is very odd and makes me wonder. I don't believe those NOACK figures.

I don't necessarily believe it either as it is on internet database, especially of all things as we know oils are subject to reformulation.

I think it's possible for Ultra to go 1 year, or 15,000 miles depending obviously.

Yup, I see this all the time. People (at my Wal-Mart) anyway, always seem to buy the cheapest oil on the shelf. I have noticed however that the VWB shelf is empty or very close to it at all times. So it would appear that people in my area (if one can make a judgement call this way) like VWB.

They are frugal. Valvoline's best oil is Maxlife but WB is cheaper.
Doesn't have anything to do with frugal, it's all about common sense and being penny wise. PU vs PP will do the EXACT SAME thing in a engine, clean and protect, so why should anyone spend the extra bucks for basically the same thing. So will Val ML vs WB, so thats why it doesn't make sense to purchase the higher item, especially given that ML is only 20-30% syn. Now is that being frugal or just having good common sense to spend your money wisely?

X2 pyb is amazing for the cleaning ability let alone the very affordable price.

Neither M1 EP nor Edge has any better long drain potential than does Ultra, advertised life not withstanding.
Ultra has a high starting TBN and both Ultra and Plat show good TBN retention.
Without UOAs, it is idle to claim that either Edge or M1 EP have better long drain potential that either Ultra or Plat.
Certainly the UOA forum shows both SOPUS oils to have considerable long drain potential, as do both M1 EP and Edge.
Neither the XOM nor the Castrol product are necessarily more capable of extended drains than are the SOPUS products.
If you want a real long drain oil, try M1 0W-40, Syntec 0w30 or Ultra 5W-40. These oils have the Euro certs that assure long drain capability, not merely a claim of it.

The other picture is a standard GF-5 oil, not M1.

I don't know what the PU SN oil looks like (VOA). Ultra's quality is definitely on par with the best IMO.
