That really shows Pennzoil taking a beating, losing 2/3 of their market share last year at quickie oil change shops.
This link, from last year, 2017 shows Pennzoil at the highest with 26%.
Valvoline at 19%
And Mobil at 15%
Havoline and Other also beat Mobil but no one's as high as Pennzoil.
The link you provided of conventional motor oil market share at fast lubes shows Pennzoil conventional motor oil at 26% in 2016, dropping to 18% market share in 2017. If you go back a few posts I had shown those figures already. Maybe you just misread the data: the data does not support your statement about Pennzoil being the 2017 leader (false) or Mobil being behind Other in that category (also false). Nothing from the conventional oil market refutes what I just posted about market share of synthetics either, but let's put that aside for now.
That same table of conventional, not synthetic, motor oil market share that you wanted me to look at, has Valvoline as 2017 market share leader at 19%; Pennzoil is in second place at 18%; Mobil is 15%, Havoline 14%, Castrol 11%, Other 11%, and "Don't offer conventional oil" at 4% in 2017.
Now back to synthetics: In synthetic oil market share in 2017 Mobil leads with 28%; Pennzoil is at 8%, tied with Other; Pennzoil also underperforms Castrol, Havoline and Valvoline.
