I see Advance Auto is running a sale on Peak brand engine oil. Has anyone ever used it or know anything about it.

It is made by Warren Performance Products, the same company that makes some of the Super Tech oils for Wal-Mart.

From what others have said,it is a pretty good oil.I have used it once some time ago and it seemed to do fine.

It should do fine for a 3-5K OCI in a normal car.

I had 20 quarts Peak oil FAR 2-3 years ago, I used it in LS400 and S2000 up to 6-7k OCI without any problem, It's as good as any conventional SM/SN.

peak and super tech come from the same vat.
so do all the wpp products depending which of 2 plants they are produced from. Probably the best value in oil available if you pay full price. Consistently robust and thick with a good ad pack.
It does burn off a bit so its better for a non oil burner.

Same here! Similar deal at PepBoys(30 qts of PEAK 5W30 & 6 ProLine filters), all FAR. I think I got'em in Sept.'09.

Used it and it worked very well. Engines were nice and quiet, and MPG was some of the best we experienced. 5k mile OCI's.

What sale are you talking about? I see their conventional for $3.99 a quart. Why not just go to Napa and get their full synthetic for $3.38. Better oil and better bargain.

I think fleet farm has it on sale for $9 a 5 qt jug. Not sure where in Iowa you're at or if you ever make it to MN. Surprised Blain's Farm & Fleet doesn't have it on special too.

Yeah O' Reillys has it on sale for 10$ for 5 qt jug, but the darn place didn't have 10w30.... only 5w30, and the sale only started a few days before I went in!!!

I beleive that "adelody" is talking about the PEAK 5+ qt jugs that AAP has on sale. I'm not sure that all NAPA's have the PEAK Syn for the same price as you mention, "smOOthpapa". Certainly a bargain as you mentioned!

The PEAK oils seem to becomming popular as their prices have sky rocketed lately.

I ment the Napa SYN is $3.38 a quart. I don't even know if they carry the Peak brand. I have to check next time I am there. I know a lot of people who use Peak oil and they love it.

Peak is another Warren Dist. (Nebraska) oil... I have their stuff in my car all the time.

When you see a generic/off brand/house brand oil, flip the bottle over... if it says Wne, or Wpp, it's Nebraska Warren.

All their oils meet spec, and meet all the API and Ilsac requirements. Their personal brands are Mag1 and Accel. Both of those oils are OK if they are to spec for your car.

In my case, I buy auto parts store brand oil made by Warren.. It's practically the same as Peak, Accel, Mag1, AutoZone Brand, Federated Auto Parts Brand, some of WalMart Brand.. and lord knows how many others. It meets API and Ilsac standards regularly, and is a good choice for vehicles that are used for casual service.

ALL of my vehicles currently have a Wne oil in them right now.

When you Peak, you win. I read somewhere that Danica personally dips a finger into each vat to make sure it tastes good. Seriously, it's SN, and often on sale. What's not to like?
