Hey I like to try different oils just like anyone else so I jumped on the Ti bandwagon and bought some Edge w/Ti. Some of the sequence III and IV tests suggest what Ti reduces wear over similar oils. Kendall also makes this claim. If it does that's cool, I like switching up oils to reduce some of the day to day boredom. That being said is there data to suggest that Edge FST is any better than Kendall GT-1? Kendall's got a little more Ti and Zinc but the base oil formulations and other additives we can't see in a voa. I can buy both for the same $$.

For straight conventional oils, Mobil Super 5000 also has a titanium additive pack. I ran MS5K in my FX4 for 5 OCIs over a 30K or so range of miles and it worked quite well.

Here is a VOA of MS5K that I did with a particle count embedded a little deeper in the post.

What do you guys think about switching from a more moly rich oil like PYB to Mobil Super 5000? Is titanium as good as moly for protection of bearing surfaces? I've also heard that Ti starts working at a lower temperature than moly. If that's true then wouldn't Ti be better for a short-tripper?
