PB Blaster

I really like the stuff too- except for the smell. It REALLY stinks! I've heard Marvel Mystery oil or even ATF will work as a penetrant oil. What is this Kroil you speak of and how malodorous is it? I think I've seen it in the Eastwood catalog...

Wife does environmental cleanup and she says PB smells like the stuff she digs out of the dirt. She can spot it from 40 feet away...

PB Blaster works. It can take three days to a week before it does anything, but it does work where most "penetrating oil" products are completely worthless.

I'll stick with the Kroil. A big "Thank You!" to BITOG for letting me know this stuff exists. Where the PB needs a few days to a week, the Kroil needs ten minutes to two days. They both work and they both stink and they both show how most other penetrating oils aren't worth using even if you get them for free. Whichever one you use, the result can be amazing.

Kroil stinks as well. But it has an odorant, sort of weird menthol like. Hard to describe, but the wife hates it.

So this must mean that it works!

Just tell her it's the inert additive that makes the stuff environmentally safe.

We really don't need another product that works taken off the market by the gangster EPA and them wanting to "crucify" companies.

Time definitely helps. Two weeks before I started rebuilding my boat trailer I started spraying everything with PB. I had some bolts you couldn't even get a socket on due to the insane rust from all the years of salt water. After a good treatment, 2 weeks later everything wound off with ease.

Before we discovered Kroil we used PB a lot. I learned to spray it on a couple of times a day or two BEFORE trying to turn some old rusted hardware.

Worked great on O2 sensors as well, but needed time.

Try Kroil, it's WAYYYY better!

i too agree that timing is important. just give it a chance to work itself in to the crease/rust of the fastener.....the stuff is woth the money!!!
