A couple observations:
I think it's likely the voice of the girl in the cartoon is not the voice of his "girlfriend" appearing in the other videos and on their blog. This seems pretty reasonable to me given that the accent and inflections don't sound like a match with the image I have in my head (though I never could find one where she spoke), and the name "Kate Micucci" (if that's her real name) would also be a bit odd for someone of her nationality. You have to then wonder about the nature of the dialogue, which was apparently written by "Mike" and not his girlfriend (the opposite of which could be easily inferred given that the narrative is from her point of view and in a woman's voice). The guy doing the drawing and the music actually has a pretty neat blog by the way (he's a stand-up comedian apparently).
Assuming, however, that his girlfriend did actually have a hand in the sketch, maybe after she witnesses the "majesty and diversity of foreign lands" (there's no place like London...) she'll come to realize a lot of the people in this world would kill to have that life (if she doesn't understand that already in some sense). Her desire for writing a book which changes the way people (?) think and developing a grasp of contemporary philosophy might help her work out some of the kinks too I suspect. It looks like she is even holding out hope that the proposal will feel right (read: real); I didn't see any rings in the videos or pictures anyway. I wonder if she's a fan of Nietzsche by any chance...
A lot of the videos were very creative, and it's obvious they have done a lot of work to produce them (I've actually seen the "One Semester of Spanish Love Song" before). I would be more wary of the guy than his "girlfriend" honestly. She didn't exactly fill the spotlight in the two videos I saw her in, and from the blog entries and nature of the videos, I'll bet this is really much more "his project" than hers. I finally stopped laughing when I got to the cop one, which was simply brutal. [censored]. This guy could, of course, just have some sort of truly bizarre artistic philosophy he happens to be advancing among whatever other possibilities there are (which I can't simply rule out with what's there).
Since we're trading our two cents on two cents worth of information, I think you guys are reading the relationship influences backwards if it was even your intent to generate anything beyond a passing commentary on the voice you heard in the cartoon (this kind of stuff really winds me up sometimes... lol). I'm pretty sure I understand what you guys generally meant at any rate, and I can identify with the anger to a certain extent, but you have to make sure it is pointed in the right direction (in this case at the right person). That's really all I'm trying to say; you can extrapolate from this point on your own if you wish to do so.
The humor has been annihilated in the humor section yet again... which I actually find kind of funny.
