Sorry for being a pane, but I can't find the explanation to all the abbreviation's that I see in these posts! I've looked and searched, but no can find.

Somewhere we have a "sticky" thread that lists acronymns,

but here's the answers to your specific question:

PAO - Poly alpha olefin base oil as used in synthetic formulations.

PPD - Pour Point Depressant, an additive used to provide better flow when an oil is very thick at cold temperatures.

ICO - (I think you mean OCI) is oil change interval, usually expressed in 3,000(3K) miles, 5,000(5K) miles, etc. and is the length of service time that the oil is in the crankcase before being drained/changed.

Yes, I meant OCI. All these different abbreviation's that I don't know prevent me from understanding a lot of the information in people's posts.

A few months ago I found the post here on Bobs The Oil Guy with all the abbreviation's, but now, looking for it again, I was unable to find it. I'd think this would be an easy find to help the newbies that come on here to learn and to obtain info. But...I'm still looking.

I just tried googling for OCI and got all kinds of hits that have nothing to do with what is meant here on this board. That dose me no good. For, how would I know which one was relative?

I just want to be able to understand all this stuff.

You're certainly not a pain. In the heat of the debate, or even friendly discussion, we do tend to get carried away at times.
